Amigos Mexican Grill:
Amigos Mexican Grill is a hidden gem located in Laurel, Maryland. They have outdoor sitting which is especially good for the summer months coming up, and a kid’s menu. The restaurant opened about four months ago and I must say it is doing pretty well with the competition in the neighborhood.
The food is moderately priced, very tasty, and you get huge portions. The service is great, and I will highly recommend this restaurant. I got beef nachos, and surf and turf tacos and it was delicious. The nachos were definitely one of the best I have ever had, and I will definitely return for some more.
- UMI Sushi:
Located in the historical Ellicott City in Maryland. Umi Sushi has the best sushi I have ever had. They offer outdoor seating in the warmer months; they serve vegan dishes and have live music some nights.
They don’t take reservations so expect a wait when you visit or if you are lucky, then no wait at all (there was no wait when I visited on a Friday around 6pm EST).
Very friendly staff, clean location with a nice vibe and I also loved the aesthetic of the food display. I got some items from the chef’s special rolls, and they were all very delicious and tasty.
I ordered the American dream, the angry lobster and the Maryland sushi and they were all very delicious. I can’t wait to visit again in the near future.

Just by the name, Royal Taj offers fine dining Indian cuisine, in a very posh environment. I have visited here several times and have always had wonderful service. The staff is very kind and polite, which always makes my visit an experience.
The food is great and reasonably priced, and they have many food options on the menu.
- Carlyle:
Carlyle is located in Arlington, Virginia. It is a roomy New American brasserie decked out in art deco-esque decor with a bar & upstairs dining area.
