Let us discuss pop culture today and dive into the world of Chinese dramas. Chinese dramas, fondly called Cdramas, are becoming as popular as kdramas especially on Netflix. Let us go over my favorite Chinese dramas of all time. If you haven’t seen any of these, you should definitely add them to your list and watch it ASAP. These are my top Chinese dramas.
Love and Redemption:

Synopsis:
A thousand years after the battle between the demons and heavens took place, the souls of the Star of Mosha and the God of War are sent to the mortal realm to serve penance.
In the mortal realm, Chu Xuan Ji, daughter of the Shaoyang Sect Leader, is deprived of her six senses. At a tournament, she meets Yu Si Feng, a skilled disciple of Lize Palace who was born on the same day as her, and the two develop a friendship. Promising to meet again, Si Feng returns to his sect, where he is punished for breaking the rules and forced to wear a mask that could potentially harm his life, while Xuan Ji leaves her home to train in martial arts.
Four years later, their destinies intertwined anew. While traveling together, recovered memories from their past lives surface, revealing secrets and conspiracies involving themselves and the three realms: demon, heavenly, and mortal. These revelations have a profound impact on their relationship, creating an imbalance in all three realms.
It stars Cheng Yi and Yuan Bing Ya and was released in 2020. This is definitely a must watch and also the reason for my obsession with Cdramas.

The Princess Weiyoung:

The show stars Tiffany Tang, Luo Jin (they are a couple in real life). If you are a fan of revenge dramas, then this is a must watch.

She is well-liked and known for being bright and cheerful, although, on the inside, she is more insecure than she would like to let on. Also attending the same university is her childhood friend, avid archer, and national defense student Xu Fang. He has had a crush on Lin XI Chi since they were both at school but has never plucked up enough courage to let her know. Although he can be quick-tempered with others, he always treats Lin Xi Chi with great tenderness.
When she loses a bet connected to an arm-wrestling bout, Lin Xi Chi has to forfeit a month’s living costs, a twist of fate that brings the two ex-school friends closer together than ever. And one evening, their friendship is turned upside down when Xi Chi gets drunk, and long-suppressed emotions suddenly come to the fore.
This is one of my favorites coming of age dramas and I will highly recommend it.
It stars Zhang Yao, Song Yi Ren and aired in 2020.

Our Secret:

Synopsis:
According to Wikipedia, the series tells the story of a superior and unruly campus male god Zhou Siyue and a headstrong, stubborn, and lovely Cinderella girl, Ding Xian. From being mutually exclusive tablemates at school to becoming each other’s lifelong companions in their journey through youth. Although they couldn’t stand each other at first, they come to appreciate each other’s strengths in their day-to-day interactions.
This series aired in 2021, and it stars popular and upcoming actors Chen Zheyuan, and Xu Mengjie.

The Starry Love:

When their palanquins are mixed up on the way to their weddings, Qing Kui and Ye Tan soon find themselves married to the wrong men. Though romance begins to blossom between the two mismatched couples, trouble begins to stir in the four realms. With their love and lives soon on the line, will these two sisters find a way to peace in the troubled realms?
This is one of my favorite series that was released this year and it stars Chen Xing Xu, Landy Li, Luke Chen, He Xuan Lin.

Immortal Samara:

According to Viki, Ying Yuan is the Sovereign Lord and protector of a fantastic heavenly realm inhabited by deities and spirits who live long, peaceful lives above the clouds, thanks to a peace deal struck between a number of rival kingdoms. One day, however, that peace is at risk of shattering when an elder of the demon world attempts to steal a powerful treasure that has remarkable healing powers, the Four-Leafed Lotus. A fierce struggle breaks out and Ying Yuan intervenes to thwart the attempted theft. But in doing so, the treasure becomes personified in human-like form as two sisters. Ying Yuan is given the honor of naming them and names the older sister Zhi Xi and the younger Yan Dan. The latter appears to fall for the dashing and heroic Sovereign Lord.
It stars Yang Zi, and my favorite actor Cheng Yi. It aired in 2022.

Love between fairy and Devil:

During Dongfang Qingcang’s awakening, Xiao Lanhua unknowingly casts the “One Heart Curse”. The curse links their experiences, sharing injuries, emotions, and death. Dongfang Qingcang protects Xiao Lanhua while he searches for a cure but begins to fall in love with her.
One of the biggest hits of 2022. aired in 2022 and stars Yu Shuxin, and Dylan Wang.

It aired this year, and stars Chen Zhe Yuan and Zhao Lu Si. I was so excited when this was announced, and it has two of my favorite actors.

She hopes to rely on her embroidery skills as a ticket to freedom.
The show stars Tan Song Yun, Wallace Chung and was released in 2021.
