Traveling to Tokyo, Japan for a few days and do not know what to do. I have put together a fun yet packed itinerary for you to make good use of your time. When on vacation, you need to make good use of the time you have. Be prepared to take some steps in and remember you will only rest on the plane back home or when you get home. There is no time to rest during vacation, so get up, get dressed and let us have some fun.
I was in Tokyo for only 2 days, but I used my time wisely and was able to get so many activities done so here is part two of the previous blog.
- Shibuya Center-Gai:
Shibuya center Gai is a narrow street in Udagawachō, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It is a very popular street, especially among youths as it has a variety of popular brand name stores, fast food outlets and nightclubs. Its name is meant to signify how it is the “center” of Shibuya. It is only about a 10 minutes walk from Shibuya Station. It has very trendy stores like Zara, Gucci, Fendi, and much more. There are also several convenient stores in the area so you can grab something to eat or drink as you walk around and explore center Gai.
- Shibuya Crossing:
I mean if you have not heard of the famous Shibuya crossing, or if you do not have it on your visit list while in Tokyo, Japan, why are you here? Shibuya scrambling crossing is the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing, with as many as 3,000 people crossing at a time. It is very easy to get to as it is located in front of the Shibuya station. There are three large TV screens mounted on nearby buildings overlooking the crossing, as well as many advertising signs.
It is a very busy crossing street so have your cameras ready to take lots of pictures and videos as you take a walk across the historical crossings. Trust me, you will not be the only one. You will get to see so many bloggers and tiktokers talking to their phones as they take several videos while crossing the streets several times. I shared a video of me crossing the Shibuya Crossing so make sure you check my IG page @beingbruni and please follow for more updates, stories, and videos.
- Tokyo tower:
The Tokyo Tower is a communication and observation tower in the Shiba-koen district of Minato, Tokyo Japan. The tower was built in 1958, and at 1,092 ft tall, it is the second- tallest structure in Japan. The building stays lit all night, so for better and Instagram worthy pictures, I will recommend you visit at nighttime. FootTown, a four-story building directly under the tower, houses museums, restaurants, and shops. So, you can visit the shops to purchase some souvenirs and maybe stop by one of the restaurants if you get hungry. I visited the Tokyo Tower very late at night and all the stores and restaurants were closed so I did not get a chance to visit so maybe next time or better still please share your experience in the comment section if you have visited any of the shops and/or restaurants at FootTown.
- Shinshuku – memory lane:
Also known as Omoide Yokochō, this is an alleyway featuring a selection of food stalls for simple fare & alcoholic drinks. At Shinshuku, you will find several food stalls offering different varieties, so take your time to walk around and decide on what to eat. No matter what you are craving, I am sure there will be an option for you.
- Tower Records Japan:
The nine-story Tower Records in Shibuya was built in 1995 and carries mu . This is a must visit for all my K-pop fans and music fans in general. The store has 9 floors, and each floor is dedicated to a music genre. I visited there to buy an album for a Japanese release of my favorite K-pop boy band (Ateez). I got there an hour before they opened and there was already a line outside. They let us in once the store opened, and the whole experience of visiting and purchasing an album and a magazine was very structured and well organized. The employees speak very limited English, so I will recommend you have an image of what you are looking for so they can help you find it, if you are unable to.
They also have several events in the building for different artists. The day I visited, they had an event for Ateez as it was the album release day, and an event for actor and Astro member Cha Eun-woo. There is also a cafe on the second floor if you wish to grab something to eat. At the entrance of the store, there is a huge sign that reads “No Music, No Life” and I completely agree.
I plan to visit Japan again next year, but I will have to check out a different city; maybe Osaka? Who knows, so keep checking my page and look forward to more Japan blogs.
