Traveling to Tokyo, Japan for a few days and don’t know what to do. I have put together a fun yet packed itinerary for you to make good use of your time. When on vacation, you need to make good use of the time you have. Be prepared to take some steps in and remember you will only rest on the plane back home or when you get home. There is no time to rest during vacation, so get up, get dressed and let’s have some fun.
I was in Tokyo for only 2 days but I used my time wisely and was able to get so many activities done so there will be a part two to this blog.
- Sensō-ji temple:
This is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Tokyo Japan. It is Tokyo’s oldest temple, and one of its most significant. I would advise you to get there very early for a chance to take very good pictures before it gets packed with tourists. There is a Starbucks nearby in case you get hungry, and there are so many shops that sell traditional food and goods as you walk around the temple.
- Hoppy Street, Tokyo
Hoppy street also known as Hoppy Dori is located in Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo, Japan. Hoppy Doris is a very popular location for outdoor eating, drinking and you also get a chance to experience Tokyo’s downtown nightlife. Enjoy your walk around and good luck finding a place to eat as there are so many options.
- Takeshita Dori
Takeshita Dori is a very busy pedestrian shopping street filled with so many fashion boutiques, cute cafes and restaurants offering several diverse food options. There is something to eat for everyone whatever your preference; sweet or savory. You will find so many crepes and fried chicken stalls so come very hungry. I must warn you though, some of the food lines are very long so be ready to stand in line for a few minutes. Takeshita Dori is located in Harajuku in Tokyo, Japan.
- Don Quijote
Known as the biggest discount store in Japan, this location is a must visit for those looking to shop for cute items. They offer discount free purchases so remember to bring your passport to save some money. There is a Don Quijote located in Hoppy Dori so you can go shopping after eating.
- Tokyo Plaza Omotesando Harajuku.
Located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan is a very large shopping center with international brands & a rooftop terrace with city views. Spend some time here going through the stores and doing some tax free shopping. Make sure you visit the Charles & Keith store; they have a very extensive list of handbags, shoes, glasses, and wallets so be prepared to spend your money. Tokyo Plaza is a walking distance from Takeshita Dori so both activities should be done on the same day.
Bonus:
Get to the airport early and make sure you go eat some ramen at Ippudo Ramen. One of the best ramen I have ever had for less than 10 dollars. Very creamy soup and very tasty. Ippudo Ramen is definitely a must try and the best way to end your vacation.
