Puerto Rico is vastly becoming one of the top favorite destinations among the younger folks looking for a cheap quick destination to have fun, hike, take beautiful pictures, and enjoy the puzzling nightlife relaxing, drinking and dancing to salsa. Here is a quick three (3) itinerary that I have put together for you, so you don’t have to.
Flights:
Flights to San Juan cost between 200 – 300 US dollars when booked a few months ahead of time. I flew with United Airlines on my way to and flew with JetBlue on my way back home.
Accommodation:
If you are a big party and need more space, then I will recommend staying at Casa Ciana. This room we booked had 3 bedrooms that can hold up to six and a bath. It also had a full kitchen, and a balcony. It is also in a very popular location in close proximity to many of the touristic locations I will be living below.
It is located in San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico, and it is only about 15 minutes from the airport.
It costs about 120 – 150 US dollars a night if booked via Expedia.
For a smaller crew, then you can consider getting a one bedroom at the same location above for about 80 – 120 US dollars a night if booked via Expedia.
Mode of Transportation:
The preferable and cheapest mode of transportation in San Juan is Uber. Uber in San Juan is very cheap and also very fast, you could request an Uber and it will be there in 1 minute. For the first time ever, I hailed an Uber and it cost 4 dollars.
Day 1:
- Check in at the hotel and unpack.
- Visit the Miramar Food truck Park for some delicious and authentic food.
- Visit Distrito – T mobile for some good music, drinks, and relaxation. San Juan is known for having some of the best nightlife experience.
Day 2:
- Spend all day exploring Old San Juan:
- Visit Plaza de Armas. The Plaza de Armas is located in Old San Juan near the entrance of El Morro. It is also the most popular plaza in San Juan, Puerto Rico is PLAZA DE ARMAS. It was built 500 years after Christopher Columbus discovered Puerto Rico and commemorates this discovery with water fountains, statues, and the El Totem Telurico totem pole made from ceramic.
- Visit La Carle Fortaleza (the umbrellas are gone for now, but it is still a very touristic spot you can pass by and take a few pictures).
- Take a pic with the “I love SJ sign.”
- After a long walk, you can take a break stop at Anita’s Gelato to cool off and replenish your energy.
- Visit the Castillo De Marro. You can purchase a 10 dollars ticket that will give you access to both the Castillo De Marro and the Castillo San Cristóbal. Both destinations are very close to each other.
- Visit Castillo San Cristóbal. From here you can get a good view of the city so take some beautiful pictures.
- Remember, as you walk around, stop by, and take pictures in front of the beautiful colorful buildings. My favorite was the orange, pink, and purple house.
Day 3:
- Start your 3rd day by visiting Condado beach.
- Visit the Cathedral Basilica de San Juan (second oldest church in the entire western Hemisphere)
- The Poet’s passage (it’s a cafe, art gallery, and a poetry shop featuring the works of local poets)
- Have dinner and drinks at La Casina.
Day 4:
This is if you have a later flight back home.
- Visit the mall of San Juan and do some shopping if needed. They have so many good stores like Zara, Gucci, Versace, YSL, Louis Vuitton, H&M, Tumi, and many more.
- Visit Fuente Raíces also known as roots fountain (good for pictures).
Arrive at the airport on time for your flight back home.
- If you have an extra day, then you can try hiking El Yunque. El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, and we will be hiking there so also pack your sneakers and hiking gear.
- I hope you had a great time just like I did. I just returned home from my most recent trip to San Juan and I had a blast. It was my first time there, and I was visiting with friends and family to celebrate my birthday.
Next posts will be on the best places to visit in South Korea so I will see you again next Friday at 6pm EST.

An interesting topic, I will take part. Together we can come to the right answer. I’m sure.
I like how well-written and informative your content is. You have actually given us, your readers, brilliant information and not just filled up your blog with flowery texts like many blogs today do. If you visit my website Webemail24 about Website Design, I’m sure you can also find something for yourself.
