Planning and packing for vacation can be a daunting task and we need all the help we can get to ensure that things go smoothly. When parking for a trip, we want to ensure that we have everything we need, especially hygiene products for women. I enjoy traveling, and throughout the years, I have developed a planning/packing technique that works best for me so I would like to share it with you all. This is not meant to be a perfect routine, as I have had instances where I forget some very important items, but for the better part, these tips will help guide you as you start preparing for your trip.
Prepare your Itinerary:
Once your flights and hotels have been reserved, it is time to prepare your itinerary. I usually start watching YouTube videos and reading different blogs, so I have a better idea of what to do on my trip. I use google docs and start planning my days to include the activities and places to visit while on my trip. I always leave one day empty for any spontaneous activity I come across while on my trip. This day is usually very low key, relaxing, and away from the city. This is usually my chance to blend in with the folks and experience life like a local.
Request Foreign Currency From The Bank:
I always try to have some local currency with me whenever I visit a foreign country and I have realized that it always comes in handy. Depending on where you are visiting, cash is sometimes required especially for street food purchases so I will recommend you bring some cash with you on your trips.
Remember that if you don’t use all the foreign currency you took on your trip, you can always exchange it upon your return.
Make a list of Must Have Items:
I always start by making a list of some very important items I will need on my trip. These are the items I cannot afford to forget, so I make a list of them, and I only update the list once these said items are in my luggage. Some items that always end up on my list are as follows; pain killers, feminine hygiene products, face masks, makeup bags, hand sanitizer/hand wipes, Air Pods, and phone/laptop/watch chargers. This list might be different for everyone so try to include your must have items on this list.
Start Planning Your Outfits:
I will advise you to start planning your outfit about a week in advance. Make sure you pack some pain killers, some feminine hygiene products, and always get an extra outfit just in case. I mean it doesn’t hurt to have one or two extra outfits on your trip in case there are change of plans to accommodate the weather.
Check the weather:
I cannot emphasize this enough, but it is very crucial that you check the weather for your destination and park accordingly. If it’s cold or hot, make sure you pack accordingly. If it’s going to rain, prepare your umbrella as well. You want to dress appropriately on your trip, so you don’t take any chances of getting sick. You are here to have fun, so take care of yourself and dress appropriately.
Clean your Luggage:
I will recommend cleaning your luggage and keeping them in your room about a week or so before your trip. Having your luggage in your room helps to remind you that your trip is very close so you’re able to start packing in a timely manner.
Pack your items as soon you remember:
With your suitcases cleaned, it is time to start filling it up as your trip is around the corner. At this time, you can start packing your clothes, shoes, and other items necessary for your trip. Go through your list and start putting these items into your luggage. As the day goes by, pack every other item as soon as you remember them. Do not procrastinate because you might end up forgetting that item.
One day before your trip, I will recommend you go through the things you have packed so far and make sure your list is covered. I am sure you’ve packed everything you need so far, but it never hurts to go over them and be sure you are covered. You don’t want to rush yourself the day of your trip.
On the day of your trip, wake up early and ensure you are very well rested. Get to the airport on time, complete your check-in process and proceed to your gate to relax, and maybe grab something to eat as you await departure.
Have a safe flight and enjoy your vacation! You deserve it.
