Dubai was never really on my travel list but when they became one of the few countries to allow visitors in after the pandemic without the 10 days quarantine requirement, I knew I had to visit. It all started when my sister and I were looking for places to visit after we had taken both COVID 19 vaccines. We had a few options to narrow down our list and decide on where to visit.
1. What countries are currently open for visitors to visit?
2. What are the requirements to visit?
3. Which countries do not have the 10 days quarantine requirement?
4. What COVID 19 restrictions are mandated in the country to keep us safe?
5. What is the departure and arrival procedure in this country while traveling during the pandemic?
We were able to narrow down our options and eventually Dubai was the winner, and it was time to complete our flight and hotel reservation. Once all reservations were booked, it was time for the fun part; do our research, watch tons of YouTube videos, and plan our itinerary, This is when the fun begins, and you start to feel like you are already on vacation mode.
The vacation planning stage for me is always so fun and I really enjoy planning for trips. I will include an article later some tips to help you plan/pack for your upcoming vacation. Refer to that once it is posted.
Once all the planning is done and all reservations are complete, it’s time to start counting down the days, crossing the dates on the calendar and most especially shopping. Also, for Dubai trips it is crucial that you check whether the activities and/or festivals you are interested in are open when you plan some visits, due to the extremely hot weather in Dubai during the summer, some activities and events will not be available, please keep that in mind so you’re not disappointed when you arrive.
Here is a list of some of the fun activities we did in Dubai:
SHOPPING:
When in Dubai, shopping at the biggest mall in the world is a must. The Dubai mall has it all and there’s everything for everybody. Lots of designer stores, beauty stores, there’s a movie theater and my favorite of all, the food court. If you enjoy food like I do, then you must make sure you stop by the food court at the Dubai mall.
SAFARI TOUR:
The Safari tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Make sure you complete your reservation before your trip and don’t worry about transportation as you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. Plan to spend the whole day on this tour and trust me it will be worth it.
MORE SHOPPING:
Next up, after the Dubai mall, I will recommend the mall of emirates, and the shops at the Gold souk for some perfume, gold shopping.
GO TO THE TOP OF BURJ KHALIFA:
Of course, you can’t complete a Dubai trip without visiting the top of the tallest building in the world. I mean why are you in Dubai if you don’t add this to your itinerary.
I will also recommend having dinner at any restaurant close to the Burj Khalifa so you get to enjoy the water and fireworks show while eating dinner. It will be expensive but remember you are paying for the view, not really the food.
VISIT THE WINGS OF MEXICO:
Visit and take a picture in front of the Wings of Mexico. The Wings of Mexico stands in front of the Burj Khalifa so you will be taking a picture with the Wings of Mexico and the Burj Khalifa in the background. Nothing beats that.
DRIVE AORUND PALM JUMEIRAH:
The homes/hotels are very beautiful and look very expensive, and it will be worth the drive. You can also take a walk at the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk to get a view of the Dubai coastline and the Burj Al Arab hotel.
